To Get Top Listings You Need to Complete These 7 Items
To get listed well on Google you need to play their game, or more correctly, have your site meet favorably with the Google algorithm. They claim to have 100 things that they rank a site on and I believe every word of it. You need good SEO training to rank well.
There are top lists all over the internet so here is my effort at the top seven things you need to have done before your site will get listed on Google.
First, it is necessary to utilize our keywords in the title tag.
Second comes keywords in a heading tag, H1 heading tag to be exact.
Thirdly comes our main content. Put the keywords into the first paragraph of content.
Fourth is anchor text within the navigation. Use the keywords within the internal linking of the site.
Fifth, we want to have keywords in the anchor text of the links on other sites that point to our page.
Sixth will be PageRank. Yes, there is discussion on how important it is, but I will maintain that it has importance and you need to have good PageRank to be listed well.
Seventh, and finally, among the most important things is the content itself, and furthermore, the quantity of it.
The story of page rank is all mixed up. I personally believe it is a measure of your page’s important and even though Google is not posting an accurate number for public display any longer, it is still one of those important things for them.
Google still uses PageRank, they would not just abandon something they spent so much effort on creating. They have a number system still, just as before and you’ll see anything from N/A to zero to five. Don’t think it’s an actual score that they are showing you, but you can use it, somewhat anyway, as a reference point.
Make the content on your page to be 200 words or more, as a minimum, and up to 1,000 as the norm. More is OK if there is a real reason for it.
There is a no cost SEO Basics eBook that will show you more about all of these top 7 items.
